Water -based paint at home
It is no secret that the desire to update the interior often encounters a price problem. If the repair is necessary, and the budget is limited, you can try to make water -based paint with your own hands. This is not only economical, but also allows you to choose the desired shade and consistency. Of course, the factory product is difficult to reproduce at home with perfectly the same quality, but for small rooms or local work, this is quite acceptable.
Composition and ingredients
To prepare water -based paint at home, you will need simple components. The basis is the usual white acrylic paint (sold in construction stores). Further, depending on the desired effect, pigments are introduced (in the form of powders for coloring). An important condition is to use high -quality acrylic components. You will also need water (filtered) and, possibly, a little thickener to obtain the desired consistency.
Preparation technology
Mixing the components is a simple process. It is important to follow the proportions indicated on the packaging of acrylic paint or in the recommendations. Start with a small amount of paint to correct color and consistency. Do not rush, mix carefully, until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Add the pigment in small portions, constantly mixing. If the color is too bright or dark, add a little water. Make sure all the components are well mixed. The remaining mixture can be stored in a closed container, in a cool place.
Tips for use and storage
Apply the resulting paint with a thin layer. It is best to use a roller or brush. The drying time depends on the temperature and humidity in the room. After drying, the paint applied is resistant to moisture and mechanical damage. Keep the remnants of the mixture in a closed container in a cool place, avoiding direct sunlight. Keep in mind that home water -based paint can have somewhat less resistance than industrial.
